Speedbroker are delighted to offer this beautifully restored 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12 Roadster, finished in Silver/Grey with a superb Russet Red interior.
First registered on 5 December 1973, this is a particularly attractive example of the final evolution of the E-Type, powered by Jaguar’s wonderful 5.3-litre V12 and paired with a manual gearbox.
Having undergone a complete restoration at considerable expense and to a very high standard, the car has covered just 2,011 miles since completion and is accompanied by an excellent history file.
The Series 3 E-Type
The Series 3 brought a very different character to the E-Type.
Jaguar’s 5.3-litre V12 provided effortless performance and considerably greater refinement, while power-assisted steering, a longer wheelbase, increased cabin space and improved equipment made it a much more usable proposition. For owners who actually want to drive their E-Type, rather than simply display it, the Series 3 is a hugely compelling choice. It still delivers the unmistakable E-Type experience, but with more space, torque, comfort and long-distance ability.
This example
Originally registered as WTU 500M on 5 December 1973, the car was originally finished in white before later undergoing its comprehensive restoration. Today it presents beautifully in Silver/Grey over Russet Red, a combination that really suits the wider and more purposeful Series 3 bodywork.

History & provenance
The car is accompanied by a very good history file, including:
The Jaguar has spent many years in Essex and comes from local ownership of more than 20 years, adding another welcome element of continuity to its history.
Why the Series 3?
The Series 3 has a character entirely of its own. The V12 makes it wonderfully smooth and effortless, while the larger cabin, power steering and additional refinement make it arguably the easiest classic E-Type to use regularly. Add the manual gearbox and open-top bodywork, and it becomes a very appealing way to enjoy one of Britain’s most iconic sports cars.
In summary
This is a beautifully presented V12 E-Type Roadster, restored at considerable expense and supported by an unusually comprehensive history file. With only 2,011 miles covered since restoration, long-term previous ownership and a fantastic Silver/Grey and Russet Red specification, it is an E-Type that looks special but, importantly, is also one you’ll want to get out and drive.
A very fine and highly desirable example of the Series 3 E-Type.
